- Can I withdraw my fixed deposit any time and then topped it back later during my stay in Malaysia?
No, unless for emergency cases and with prior approval from the Ministry of Tourism.
- When can I withdraw my fixed deposit?
- After 1 year, but need to maintain a minimum Fixed Deposit balance of RM60,000 OR
- You decided to terminate the MM2H programme.
HOUSE PURCHASE
- Do I have to purchase any properties or to stay at specified locations in Malaysia?
No.
- Must foreigners buy new Malaysia property only, such as from developer, or can they purchase any property from individual owners (second hand or third hand)?
Participants can purchase any type of housing properties provided that it has been issued with CF (Certificate of Fitness).
- In the event of unforeseen death, is the participant able to hand over his Malaysian assets to any of his beneficiaries smoothly? Does the Government have any restriction?
Yes, provided the Will had made. Otherwise the next of kin of the participant will have to apply from the Government to have his properties released to them as the rightful heirs.
CAR PURCHASE
- When can I sell the car, which has been given all the tax exemptions?
It can be sold or ownership transferred provided the prevailing taxes and duties have been paid. For imported cars, the condition stipulated in the AP should be complied before any sale or transfer can be permitted.
- Is Malaysia recognises international driving licenses?
Yes.

INCOME TAX
- What kind of taxes are the participants normally subjected to?
Income earned from investments in local companies and share market or sale of landed property.
- Is used personal and household subject to tax?
No, however, the participants must declare the items at the point of entry.
- I am a German in which my country has a 'double taxation agreement with Malaysia. I have an early pension and if I stay in Malaysia for at least 184 days, my pension scheme will not be taxed by the German and Malaysia Government. Is this true?
Yes.
OTHERS
- I am a qualified doctor in Europe. How can I get to work in a Malaysian hospital or a private hospital?
Under MM2H programme, seeking of employment is not allowed. However, you can apply to the Human Resources Ministry seeking approval for you to work in Malaysia because of your special expertise. If successful, you will be issued a work permit.
- If the applicant has been staying in Malaysia for a long time, can he/she still to eligible to apply for this program?
Yes.
- When must I fulfill the condition of approval and obtain the pass after the approval?
6 months from the date of approval.
- Can the Social Visa Pass and Multiple Entry Visa be renewed after 10 years?
Yes, it is guaranteed renewable, subject to certain criteria.
